Sobre la prueba de religiosidad

Este inegoísmo es la prueba de la religión. El que tiene más de ese inegoísmo es más espiritual y esta más cerca de Shiva. Sea instruido o ignorante, él está más cerca de Shiva que nadie, lo sepa o no. Ahora si un hombre es egoísta, aunque haya visitado todos lo templos, visto todos lo lugares de peregrinación o se haya pintado como un leopardo, aún se encuentra muy lejos de Shiva

This unselfishness is the test of religion. He who has more of this unselfishness is more spiritual and nearer to Shiva. Whether he is learned or ignorant, he is nearer to Shiva than anybody else, whether he knows it or not. And if a man is selfish, even though he has visited all the temples, seen all the places of pilgrimage, and painted himself like a leopard, he is still further off from Shiva.
